Hey.

February 10, 2009 by Rene Gube

Good to… good to see ya again.
You look good.

–You Talk–

A little. I cut down on the late night snacking.. and started walking to work. So.. yeah.. no muscle, just smaller. So what’s new with you? Whatcha been up to?

–You Talk–

Rad.

–You Talk–

Nice. He’s a dick.

–You Talk–

Uh huh.

–You Talk–

Forsure.

–You Talk–

Well, if gummy bears were currency, we’d all be sittin’ pretty.. am I right?! Hell yeah. Haribo.

–You Talk–

What? Oh me..well, it’s same old same old. You know, doing the thing.

–You Talk–

New stuff, huh? Hmm. Oh, well here’s something. About this time last year, I began studying improv at the Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theatre, Los Angeles. Fell in love with the stuff, man. Totally changed the way I look at comedy. When you get some time, go to UCB for a show.. treat yourself. Because when improv is going down the right way… it’s truly something special. Long form. Not that “Whose Line is It Anyway?’ stuff…

Started a couple improv groups: Payphone Wedding & Not It. I’ve been performing at different spots around Los Angeles, and having a blast. You should come to a show, check the site, I’ll start posting the gigs.

–You Talk–

Really? Because that’d be very cool to see your face in the audience. Wellp, I’mma get going. I’m shooting this mini-webisode pilot I wrote… fronted the production dough myself. Yeeikes, right? I feel good about it though, great cast, amazing crew. If it gets picked up.. we’re gold. If not… we keep diggin. Wish me luck, Brotha.

I’mma see you.

Where We Be… (jaymar edition)

January 28, 2009 by Jaymar Cabebe

Dear everyone,

First off, thanks for staying connected. We’ve gotten a lot of messages asking about new sketches, live shows, workshops, etc, and it feels good to know that some folks are invested in what we do here.

So… what the dilly with Touchblue? Well… the simplest answer is we’re on hiatus, and we’ll be updating as soon as we’re ready. But the honest, longer-winded answer is that right now we’re all working on individual projects, that will hopefully make Touchblue an even stronger collective in the future.

As for me (Jaymar), I’ve been working furiously to put myself in a better position to contribute and to keep all of our supporters happy.

I’ve been slowly making sense of this whole media thing through my industry work in production, advertising, and television & new media programming. And next, I’m looking to put it all together through some higher education. When all is said and done, I’m hoping we can better manage this collaborative, creative process, so that we can get these pistons pumping the way they were always meant to.

So what concrete plans are in my immediate future? Well, I’m targeting grad school in the fall. But that won’t disqualify me from participating here with Touchblue… that just means that I’ll have to be a little more creative with scheduling. But before that… in my immediate immediate future, I’ll be documenting a medical mission in the Philippines. We obviously push positivity and progress here at Touchblue… so for me, it’s a big deal to be able to continue that drive back in the homeland.

In the meantime, all i can say is stay tuned, because we do have some things on the backburner. And as soon as we’re ready to sync up, we’ll have something for you. See you sooner than later. Keep touching blue, and keep making it true.

Much love,
Jaymar

p.s. Feel free to comment on this post with any suggestions, questions, whatever. Or for the direct-connect, jaymar[at]touchblue[dot]net.

Barack Obama es el Presidente de Los Estados Unidos!

January 27, 2009 by Jaymar Cabebe

Hey Touchblue folks, it’s a been a minute, huh?

Well, I got back from DC a few days ago, and I wanted to say congrats to the world. I know Barack Obama’s inauguration was a week ago, but my fingers and toes just barely thawed out… so here i am. =)

I also have to give big ups to Filipinos For Obama, now known as KAYA. I was fortunate enough to hang with some of them, and it was all good times. They were also responsible for my getting tickets to the event. =) The view was unbelievable so again, many props and thanks to them.

The spectacular camera-work below was by yours truly…

That’s all for now. Be talking to you soon..
