Room 101 Comedy
February 10, 2010 by Rene GubeInspired
February 20, 2009 by Francis LansangSo I got a job as a counselor. I enjoy it, I love it, but I’m not passionate about it. (yet?)
I had a conversation about it with a buddy, who is in the field of social work. He dropped some insight and he is an example of someone passionate about their work. In fact, he made me realize what a blessing it is to be surrounded by people who are passionate, successful and great at what they do. I especially admire artists who are committed to perfecting their craft…
If you haven’t seen Rene’s improv groups [*] I highly recommend that you check out these performers who are on top of their comedic craft. It’s brilliant.

February 19, 2009 by Francis LansangA ridiculously talented director/editor recently put my reel together. His name is Anthony David.
His skills are so sharp that he is at liberty to wake up when he wants, create a fighter on Tekken 5, hop online and straight dominate.
Sign him while you can.

A little. I cut down on the late night snacking.. and started walking to work. So.. yeah.. no muscle, just smaller. So what’s new with you? Whatcha been up to?

Rad.
–You Talk–
Nice. He’s a dick.
–You Talk–
Uh huh.
–You Talk–
Forsure.

Well, if gummy bears were currency, we’d all be sittin’ pretty.. am I right?! Hell yeah. Haribo.
–You Talk–
What? Oh me..well, it’s same old same old. You know, doing the thing.

New stuff, huh? Hmm. Oh, well here’s something. About this time last year, I began studying improv at the Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theatre, Los Angeles. Fell in love with the stuff, man. Totally changed the way I look at comedy. When you get some time, go to UCB for a show.. treat yourself. Because when improv is going down the right way… it’s truly something special. Long form. Not that “Whose Line is It Anyway?’ stuff…
Started a couple improv groups: Payphone Wedding & Not It. I’ve been performing at different spots around Los Angeles, and having a blast. You should come to a show, check the site, I’ll start posting the gigs.

Really? Because that’d be very cool to see your face in the audience. Wellp, I’mma get going. I’m shooting this mini-webisode pilot I wrote… fronted the production dough myself. Yeeikes, right? I feel good about it though, great cast, amazing crew. If it gets picked up.. we’re gold. If not… we keep diggin. Wish me luck, Brotha.
I’mma see you.
