Where We Be… (jaymar edition)
January 28, 2009 by Jaymar CabebeDear everyone,
First off, thanks for staying connected. We’ve gotten a lot of messages asking about new sketches, live shows, workshops, etc, and it feels good to know that some folks are invested in what we do here.
So… what the dilly with Touchblue? Well… the simplest answer is we’re on hiatus, and we’ll be updating as soon as we’re ready. But the honest, longer-winded answer is that right now we’re all working on individual projects, that will hopefully make Touchblue an even stronger collective in the future.
As for me (Jaymar), I’ve been working furiously to put myself in a better position to contribute and to keep all of our supporters happy.
I’ve been slowly making sense of this whole media thing through my industry work in production, advertising, and television & new media programming. And next, I’m looking to put it all together through some higher education. When all is said and done, I’m hoping we can better manage this collaborative, creative process, so that we can get these pistons pumping the way they were always meant to.
So what concrete plans are in my immediate future? Well, I’m targeting grad school in the fall. But that won’t disqualify me from participating here with Touchblue… that just means that I’ll have to be a little more creative with scheduling. But before that… in my immediate immediate future, I’ll be documenting a medical mission in the Philippines. We obviously push positivity and progress here at Touchblue… so for me, it’s a big deal to be able to continue that drive back in the homeland.
In the meantime, all i can say is stay tuned, because we do have some things on the backburner. And as soon as we’re ready to sync up, we’ll have something for you. See you sooner than later. Keep touching blue, and keep making it true.
Much love,
Jaymar

Hey Elle,
Right now, I’m actually looking into business programs that will allow me to focus on my New Media goals. And my preference would be one that integrates social responsibility and sustainability into its curriculum since, you know, I care about that stuff. =)
So, no, it doesn’t really have much to do with my medical mission. That was just an opportunity for me to travel to an area that I care about, and help some folks.
Anyway, thanks for chiming in. I never thought about my process as ‘gutsy.’ I guess I was always a little more scared of not following a dream. Best of luck to you, nurse Elle. And please, come see us again soon!
