… unless you’re all about the Jesus… in which case, Merry Jesus Christmas!

Christmas is a time of joy and celebration. It’s a time for family, a time for friends. It’s a time for giving cheerfully, and receiving graciously. Here at Touchblue we hope to have, at the very least, put a smile on your face by doing what we do. As we get ready for the new year, we sincerely hope all of you out there take the time to share a couple of laughs with us, and to let us know about it.

So check out a couple of yuletide-cheer-inducing holiday designs from resident contributor, Dianne Que (creator of Jive the Thanksgiving turkey). These characters are crazy excited for the holidays, and I guarantee they’ll make you feel the same…

Chappy Chanukah from December 15th – 23rd!

That’s right, the festival of lights is here, mofos!

I know what you’re thinking. “Is it the 25th day of Kislev already?” You’re damn right it is! So bust out your menorahs and dreidels and let’s start commemorating the Miracle of the Oil!

I know what you’re also thinking. “Chanukah? Isn’t it Hanukkah?” Well, actually the most accurate transliteration from Hebrew script to Roman alphabet is Chanukah. Only thing is, in Hebrew it’s pronounced with an ‘H’ sound and not the traditional English ‘Ch’(ocolate) sound. So, as I’m sure you’ve guessed, English speakers decided to just go ahead and cut that ‘C’ off of there. And then throw in another ‘k’. Just because. Confusing, I know. That’s why I try to keep it real and just call it חנוכה.

Chappy חנוכה everybody!

To the guy who cut me off on the freeway,

I was changing lanes. You didn’t want me to. Why? I just wanna know why, that’s all. I also want you to learn how to drive. Because, bro, if someone signals, and there’s ample space for a lane change to happen… just let it happen, you know what I’m sayin? Rene and I had to meet up with Francis and Abe for a show, so we were sort of in a hurry. Fans, dude. Legions of fans awaiting the arrival of Touchblue in full Megazord fashion and you almost ruined it. Almost. Read More »

*This speech was delivered at Magkasama 2006—an annual community event hosted by Kaibigang Pilipino at the University of California, San Diego.

Hopefully I will have said something important today. Sunday, November 19, 2006. That is the title of this keynote address. This keynote address is about writing this keynote address. You might be inclined to ask me if I’m trying to be postmodern. I would answer, Hell to the yes. Read More »
